OVERVIEW:
This session provides a practical introduction to the key
energy efficiency changes introduced in NCC 2025 Volume One Preview Draft for
commercial buildings (Class 3 and Class 5–9). The session will work through changes to the Section J and J1V3 pathways, and how those changes are likely to impact building
design. Attendees will gain an understanding of
NCC 2025, the mechanics of compliance, and how to prepare Commercial building
designs for NCC 2025 adoption.

Walker is a Commercial Energy Efficiency Assessor with over 20 years of
experience in technical and management roles across the scientific, engineering
and built environment sectors. As BERA’s lead consultant on Section J
requirements, he brings practical insight into NCC compliance pathways, J1V3
modelling, and performance solutions. David’s strong technical foundation and
experience working with architects and designers support his clear, grounded
approach to navigating regulatory changes in building design.
