Ingrid has been working as a building designer in Melbourne since 1996; and she is passionate about creating homes that combine pleasure, practicality and sustainability for (and with) her clients. She is a firm believer that that every renovation is an opportunity to make a difference, to both people and the environment; and is committed to giving back to an association that has always focused on supporting and promoting its members.

Peta Anderson

With more than 20 years of experience as a leader of change, communications and training, Peta is dedicated to managing the strategic direction of learning experiences and member engagement. Her experience includes publicly listed companies within the legal technology sector, private practice and government.  She is most passionate about creating relevant, forward-thinking and innovative initiatives that meet not only the needs of where the building design industry is today, but where it needs to be prepared to go tomorrow.

Dominique Hunter (Immediate Past President)

Hunter & Richards

Dominique is a registered building practitioner, founder and design director at Hunter & Richards Interior Design.  Driven by classic design, Dominique’s focus is in creating an optimal living space that maximises the surrounding environment with sustainable features. Bringing more than 20 years’ design expertise and industry knowledge, and has served on the Committee of Management for 12 years, having held both the treasurer and vice president positions. Dominique’s ambition is to help the Association shape a cohesive design industry, built on teamwork and collaboration amongst all design parties, and will drive the celebration of good building design through education, advocacy and communication.

Peter Lombo (Vice President)


Peter graduated at RMIT University in 1986 with an Associate Diploma of Architectural Technology and founded Archsign in 1988.

Peter’s passion for collaboration and rapport with his team deliver the best quality in design and value for clients. His direction is prominent in the quality assurance of the design, documentation and construction phases, including the ongoing coordination with client representatives, project managers and consultants. Peter is a member of the Building Practitioners’ Board (BPB) and has received a number of awards for his work.

Greg Blanch (Treasurer)

Working in architecture since 1975, Greg holds an Advanced Diploma Building Design and Project Administration, and has developed a broad understanding of architectural practice, with a special expertise in the technical aspects of design development, documentation and contract administration. As well as the core services Greg has provided significant mentoring and specialist consulting, particularly with regards to general architectural practice and contractual arrangements. Greg has lectured nationally and locally on behalf of the Australia Institute of Architects.

Timothy Ellis (Committee Member)

Glow Design Group

After graduating from Victoria University Tim worked for a Swiss German Architect which was a great learning experience in coming up to date with cutting edge Architecture and design. He studied the thermal importance of buildings which was later supported by attaining a thermal performance accreditation. Tim not only uses his building design and drafting skills, but also those of professionals in interior design and photography. Tim’s designs have been presented in Belle Magazine and Grand Designs UK magazine and he has lectured in Sustainable Building Design and Design Presentation of Architectural Drawings at Victoria University.

Jeremy Spencer (Committee Member)

Positive Footprints

A registered builder since 2006 and Thermal Performance Assessor since 2004, Jeremy is director at Design & Building company Positive Footprints.  Positive Footprints combine sustainable design, thermal assessment, and construction into one company, making high performance sustainable homes and renovations easy to achieve and affordable.  Along with his co-director wife, and team of committed craftsmen, they make modern low impact living a reality for clients.

Jeremy has given numerous lecturers over the years, taught with Master Builders Greenliving program, and co-hosted a building segment on ABC radio, in an effort to spread what he has learnt, and make sustainable construction a mainsteam proposition.

John Armsby (Committee Member)

Established in 2008, John has built his practice and leads his multi-disciplinary team on the philosophy of creating value for clients through innovation, collaboration, sustainable design and effective delivery. 

John a leader in sustainable design and provides exceptional understanding and attention to each and every project, from inception to completion. His practice specialises in multi-residential, commercial and industrial typologies, and his team takes a strategic approach to their projects by applying comprehensive knowledge of local planning schemes, intelligent design and commercial realities to find the appropriate solution for any development. 

John leads his team to create architecture that responds to their clients’ briefs, respects the surrounding environment, reimagines how people interact with space and reflects our values.  Delivering holistic and bespoke designs in architecture and interior design, Armsby Architects continues to innovate and adapt to the changing trends to drive their goals and passion for design.  
Darron Lyons (Committee Member)

The Red Shed

Darron has been an active Member of Design Matters National since 2016, a building designer for almost 20 years, and he has owned The Red Shed since 2007. The Red Shed is a team of professional Building Designers specialising in new residential, residential extensions, new commercial and commercial extensions. Darron's passion is working closely with his clients to build custom-designed homes that meet his client’s brief, are functional and sustainable. Darron brings unique skills and experience to the Committee of Management and wants to explore cross-learning opportunities with his fellow Members about the climatic differences between Victorian and NT building design. 

Jason Saunders (Committee Member)
