Position Description
EM Design Group Pty Ltd is based in North Melbourne and has a focus on residential, multi-unit and commercial developments. About the role: The role will involve producing architectural design concepts and may include documentation for town planning and building permit approvals. The ideal candidate will possess the following abilities: • source documentation required to gain permit approvals' • prepare project plans and documentation based on discussions with Director; • ability to work independently on building design concepts • prepare, present and communicate designs; • making changes to standard drawings with ability to use own initiative to offer design alternatives; Required Experience: • minimum 8 years recent practical experience in building industry; • proficient in the use of AutoCAD is a must; • formal qualification in Building Design; • sound technical knowledge and understanding of the Building Code of Australia; • competence liaising with consultants and Councils; •a strong work ethic and the ability to work to tight deadlines; • experience with Town Planning design. About you: • the successful candidate should be someone with a keen attention to detail who is self-driven; • experience in Residential Design and Drafting is a must with commercial and industrial experience being a bonus; • exceptional organisational skills and excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; • the successful candidate will be capable of working autonomously and able to manage one or more projects concurrently
