Position Description
Architect, Architectural Designer, Building Designer. SAC Building Workshop. We are a boutique design studio, with a diverse range of projects. Our platform is based on both a hands-on creativity and digital creativity. We have an eclectic mix of diverse multi-cultural staff, who bring a collective multitude of opinions and varied views to the studio. We see this as a positive contribution, which provides a connection of cultures. We are seeking an experienced candidate with a minimum of 5 years in the design industry. The candidate will be able to demonstrate they have, a very good understanding of the planning process and able to convert design concepts into architectural drawings for both planning and construction. The candidate will need to have an extensive platform of both AutoCAD and REVIT programs, along with other typical standard software adopted in the design industry. The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate they can converse with sub- consultants. Have the confidence to be the point of contact on each and every project they would be allocated. The studio will always have a key staff member in the studio, who will be available to provide support and assistance. The candidate will demonstrate, they have a clear understanding of the planning process and able to interpret the planning schemes. An understanding of Res-code, BADS [Better Apartment Design Standards]. The candidate will be able to demonstrate they can undertake full working drawings in all facets of construction and development. Tasks: • Evaluate and prepare design options for project brief with client and stakeholders • Be able to liaise and collaborate with consultants and specialist during all stages of the project • Provide and assertive inclusion of material selections based on their physical qualities. • Generate detailed and accurate 2d and 3d documentation for planning and construction submission showing a clear understanding of the local codes as BADS, Res-code and Australian standards. • Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants and builders to meet quality objectives. • Be able to coordinate with builders and professionals design options, material selection and cost impact for the project. • Monitor progress of work on-site to ensure the project is to meet quality and time objectives. • Collaborate with external consultants and create reports and planning documentation in detail reflecting a cohesive outcome. Qualifications: • Minimum Diploma of Architecture / Bach of Architectural design Experience: • Minimum 5 years of local experience. Skills. • Highly efficient in both AutoCAD and Revit. • Excellent understanding of the planning process and be able to interpret planning schemes • A clear understanding of design guidelines as Res-code, BADS and BCA • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
