Presenter Xavier Papuraj, Senior Teacher of BIM in the Faculty of Trades at Box Hill Institute of TAFE in Melbourne, contributed to the article, "Is BIM now BAU?", in the latest Q2 issue of INTERSECT.  Xavier will continue the conversation about BIM, and talk more about BIM education at Box Hill Institute.

Everything you need to know about BIM and providing complete information about a building using a 3D model.  An interactive session, Xavier will discuss the benefits of BIM, answer all questions and outline the BIM education offerings currently available at Box Hill Institute.

About the Presenter

 

Xavier Papuraj a BIM Expert who specialises in BIM/Integrated Design/Project Delivery Solutions and Building Information Modelling, and has the academic background of Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning and Multi-media Development and more than 35 years of field experience in the AEC industry and has specialisation in Revit/BIM Implementation over the past 20 years. 

Currently positioned as Course Coordinator and teacher for the Advanced Diploma of BIM (Building Information Modelling) under Faculty of Trades and Technology in Box Hill Institute, Melbourne Australia. Recently completed service as ‘BIM Implementation Consultant’ for KEF Infra - Bangalore, India spearheading the full-fledged implementation of BIM/BIM360 in KEF production work processes. KEF Infra is a pioneer in Prefabricated Construction Industry in India. 

Worked as ‘Customer Success Engineer’ for Autodesk Asia Pte Ltd for Post-sale Revit support and still continue as ‘External Consultant’ for Autodesk - India to help evangelize BIM by conducting workshops, seminars Etc., in major cities of India. He also travels around South East Asia Pacific region, teaching and Implementing Revit and he evangelizes BIM for construction Documentation and 4D Simulation. Earlier worked as a visiting faculty/ Senior-Lecturer in UTS & TAFE-NSW, teaching BIM technology to the Graduates in Construction Management and BIM for Interior Design respectively, and he pursues his PhD in BIM for Construction Education. Has helped in the past for larger architectural firms in Australia, Singapore, India and in Sri Lanka, in adapting to BIM, especially L&T-Chennai, C&T- Bangalore, ‘Robertson+Marks - Sydney’, ‘Woods Bagot - Australia’, ‘DG Five International - Colombo’ to name few.
