Matthew Barker
Benchmark Heritage

Matthew Barker is an Archaeologist and Heritage Advisor with fifteen years of successful experience in cultural heritage management. Matthew is a director of Benchmark Heritage Management P/L who specialise in Aboriginal and European Heritage Management in Victoria.

Matthew thrives in the dynamic, constantly evolving, complex multi-stakeholder environment that is archaeology in 21st Century Victoria. A strong believer in the power of education and engagement to assist clients in their understanding of the importance of cultural heritage to understanding our connection to the past; to forming new relationships in the present and a future to be proud of. Matthew enjoys a good Netflix binge, long lunches on the Mornington Peninsula but can also be found on long bike rides on hilly country roads.
