How Timber Design is Deemed-to-Satisfy in the NCC

10/05/2023 | 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM AEST

Event overview

Deemed-to-Satisfy Timber design is often confusing due to the convoluted compliance pathway in the National Construction Code. This presentation will address how timber products design can be DTS within the NCC, including sawn timber and engineered wood products. It will also include how modern products like Cross-laminated timber can also fit within this mechanism. The presentation will conclude with a discussion on how to identify NCC-compliant timber products, using laminated veneer lumber as an example.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the pathway to achieve NCC DTS-compliant timber products.
  • Understand how to identify NCC-compliant products on the building site.
