OVERVIEW:

East Gippsland Members (and friends of members),

Join us for lunch at the newly renovated Maffco Brewery & Distillery in Maffra. Tour of the property & lunch included!

Originally known as the Willsmere Dairy Factory, MAFFCO took over in 1954 and operated the business as a farm supplies store until 2022 when it was sold to current owners, Nicky and Lashay, and became the Maffco Brewery and Distillery.

Nicky and Lashay are inspired by local artisans and plan to create a paddock to plate experience in their restaurant, featuring produce from their own farm.

Guest speaker, Martin Richardson, Manager Planning at East Gippsland Shire Council, will be speaking about the Future challenges and opportunities in housing design, with insights into the following topics:

  • data around housing demand
  • forecasting of housing in the region, what is happening in the current market and where the supply and demand will be in future
  • discussion about housing design in medium density and some of the challenges town planners are facing
  • future needs of the community
  • where we expect to be by 2041

See you there.
