Victorian-based Architect Marie Carrel, from Planet Architecture, embraces a sustainable approach to architecture. Marie’s vision is to deliver sustainable design and information services widely to accelerate the rate of change towards sustainability. In this illuminating ‘Behind the Scenes’, Marie takes us ‘inside’ her new, rammed-earth residence and explains:

About the Presenter

 

 

Marie Carrel, Director, Planet Architecture

Marie holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, a Bachelor of Planning and Design and a Bachelor of Architecture (Melbourne Hons.). She is a member of Design Matters National and a registered building professional. She is a highly pragmatic professional who pays special attention to integrating ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Development) with high functionality and stylish aesthetics. Marie has designed numerous private residences in Melbourne and country Victoria and has a thorough knowledge of the environmental value of building materials, which she gained though working with building biologists and carrying out extensive research on this topic for architect Greg Burgess.
